The Monaghan Project is located 20km south-east of Monaghan in the eastern portion of the Longford-Down Inlier.
The area is well established as featuring elevated base metal anomalies associated with interpreted NNW-SSE trending faults.
The majority of the historic exploration in the area occurred in the 1960s, with minor exploration in the 1980s primarily focused on a nearby gold deposit.
The historic Hope Mine (lead, zinc, silver, barium) is located within the Monaghan Project area, and represents a small-scale epigenetic base metal showing.
Several exploration targets have been identified, where elevated base metal concentrations are coincident with EM anomalies along interpreted fault zones, with deep geochemical sampling required to further confirm these targets.
